It was the strangest thing; it looked to us like Somerset was blanketed in a covering of snow and ice, but it was nothing of the sort – it was just us. You could leave the gate and drive a couple of hundred metres in any direction and be completely snow and frost free. We think it was perhaps due to the fact that we are in the bottom of the river valley, sheltered from winds where our own micro climate had been created. In any event, it was a lovely few days. As a great mind once said.”There’s no such thing as bad weather – only the wrong clothes”.
